AGM 2009 was held on 15th Feb 2009. Only 11 Members + 3 Non-members attended this meeting ( NOT EVEN the past members of MC thought it important enough )
You can see in attachment how 16 people of MC was formed by nominating each others name.

Showcause notice to Lok Sewak Society for not following orders
We had a meeting with Registrar last Thursday about Why NOT showing documents to members ? Interesting lines that came from our managing committee were :
1) We will NOT OPEN society office on weekdays as most of us are businessmen and don't have time. Even at retirement age we still have to earn money to buy medicines. Only free time is on Sunday's.
2) Property prices in Geetanjali Enclave have shot up because Lok Sewak have done development over years.
3) Working in Managing Committee is a voluntary job so we will work at our own times.
4) People in Geetanjali Enclave are very happy with us BUT we are not getting any cooperation from residents about money collection so society is facing money shortage. ( contradicting statement )
Registrar issued orders to Lok Sewak to show documents on 8th August 11:00am.
Updated on 14th August:
We had requested to Society to share few papers with us. Let's see when we will receive them ???

Lok Sewak society working as RWA also
There is NO CIRCULAR/ initiative from managing committee to enrol new members. ( Currently 20-30 active members only )
From the above mandate, one can clearly judge functioning of the society ?
It is suggested that in the coming AGM( Annual General Meeting ) the invitation to participate and attend the meeting should be extended to all floor owners in the colony irrespective of being member of society or not.
Residents views/suggestions will be a one step closer in seeking cooperation from them.
Regards; Amit
Mr Secretary resignation appreciated
Resignation accepted but no intimation sent by Lok Sewak Society to its members.
Who is the next secretary ?
Regards; Amit
Acting President and Vacant Secretary seat--> society STOPS functioning
We wish him early recovery and taking over the charge as President.
Probably since President is not well and there is no general secretary in society , No reply to letters written by members to the society .
Regards; Amit

Broken swings
Burning leaves
Burning leaves is an offense as it creates lots of pollution and associated health problems. However that's the usual practice in our colony. Inspite of repeated requests to not do the same, the same is always done. The society cannot make a dump for leaves to make compost, which is the suggested best practice.

SMS sent to Geetanjali residents, pls step forward and join hands to bring positive change
Sms has been sent to few members whose mobile numbers were available in our 2007 Telephone Directory.
Society is NOT even able to publish new directory every year.

Society office timing changed. Why?
For the past several years the society office timings were:
Mon-Fri: 6 to 8pm
Sat:
Sun: 10 to 12 noon
Directions were issued by Registrar of Co-operative societies to the managing committee that records may be shown to any members as per society office timings.
Instead of cooperating with members they have now issued a notice on 2nd May’10:
“Society office will be OPEN only on Sunday’s 10-12noon”
This important notice has NOT been circulated to the members and residents of Geetanjali Enclave till 9th May'10
This society is also functioning as RWA. As such, the members and residents have to approach daily to the society for various issues.
Q) Is it enough for society office to open only on Sundays?
Q) Whom to contact during rest of the week?
Q) Why sudden change of timings and NO information to members & residents?

No system of Letter receiving by managing committee of Lok Sewak society
It was surprising to note that they will NOT allow me sitting next to my father.
Hence we had no option but to give them a letter requesting I may be allowed to accompany my father on health grounds.
The office assistant refused to accept this letter. Managing committee directed peon Shri Baijnath to receive the letter on their behalf.
Not a single managing committee member dared to put his signature on the letter.
The above act on part of managing committee is a clear sign of disrespect to any member of the society and seems like a prognosis of increasing mental bankruptcy
This proves that managing committee neither wants to share the information nor cooperates with any member when some member visits for some work.

Right to Information for every member from Lok Sewak society
We had requested three times in writing to the president of the society for supplying the " Rules & Regulations of Lok Sewak Society ", " Minutes of managing committee meetings ", updated List of Resident members ", etc.
Surprisingly three times the reply was " Members cannot have ANY information from society and should approach the office of Registrar of cooperative society "
Finally Registrar office issued the orders :
" Society was directed to allow the inspection of the records by any members"
Q) Why our Lok sewak society denied to share the even the basic information like " Updated List of Members "
Q) What they want to hide from the members ?
Q) Why only managing committee thinks that they are only working for the welfare of society and residents ? Approach should be to take the maximum participation from members and residents ?
It is an appeal to the members and residents to ASK for any information & cooperation required for enrollment of New members.

What is the problem with security charges?
1. We need to have security in the colony.
2. Residents should be contributing some money towards the security in the society.
However canceling nominations in elections and debarring people from voting is both unlawful and unmoral -
- Security charges are collected from both residents and member of the lok sewak society. This is a clear ambiguity, on what basis is society collecting money from non members?
- You cannot debar people from voting, In india even criminals can vote. Voting is a fundamental and constitutional right.
- Security charges collection and associated rules do not form part of the society bylaws i.e. Registrar of societies is not informed about this.
- When 71 members of 126 members are not paying the same, something is definitely wrong.
1. This in a way confirms that existing people are making money from it. As there is also reluctance in sharing the details the same is again confirmed.
2. Incase (a v remote possibility) that we get to be incharge of security, there will be very transparent accounting and services. All shall be shared and nothing hidden. How can someone make money when there is complete transparency?

List of members
The reason for not maintaining the list is lack of time with the present committee members. I have agreed to take on the same, provided i am assigned some worker who can go and make some rounds.
However again i am not sure if there would be any forward movement on this...I am trying to be hopeful and positive after today's meeting with some of the members of the committee.

Security arrangement in our colony
I accepted the same and gave a letter to society to call up a follow up meeting where i can share the security proposal which i have made with a wider forum. I want to finalise a proposal based on the concerns of all residents and provide security which satisfies concerns of most people. However Mr president replied on my letter that committee will decide on the meeting date which i am sure will be NEVER.
This exposes the fact that no matter that they might claim that people are not coming forward to work for society, they do not want to have anybody come ahead and work for society because of vested interests.

The farce of a resignation
Have we not seen this drama happening so many times with our politicians? It's amusing to note that colony residents are assumed to be fools to believe such thing. Its also a shame that society elected members are playing such a drama..

Meeting on security on 14th March
The general word that came out was whether accept whatever we are providing you, or give us a proposal which we MAY CONSIDER. However we have now decided to give a proposal and therefore take the security management from our great executive council.
We have also decided to call another meeting next week where we try and get more views to make the final proposal and submit the same to the society.

The cost of security
- Society pays an income tax of 2lacs on a savings of 7 lacs. Why that money is not used for providing security?
- On the pretext of non payment of security charges, 71 out of 121 members of the society were debarred from voting.
- Car stereos have been stolen at random many times from the colony, and no action was taken.
- On the pretext of security, money is extorted from builders for allowing the trucks enter the colony at night time. When we made our house few years back, we were extremely harassed and our trucks were not allowed. However now we all know that trucks come in at all times, why?
Secretary threatens people in thier homes
Mr. Khanna is disturbed from the fact that my father is trying to highlight the mismanagement of the society. My father is generally alone in the house. I fear for his safety and therefore have now also filed a police complaint to prevent such action in future. There have already been 2 instances now.
My Father is retired class 1 government engineer aged 65 Yrs+. Worst part is other colony residents also fear for their safety and do not raise their voice. This inaction has led to increased confidence of Mr. Khanna. However we will not bow down and let a place where we live and have spent so many years meet this fate.
It is now important that young people come ahead and take the welfare of the colony and its resident in their hands and give back something to society.
